There is something special about Hamburgsund. Along the strait you will find old traditional boat houses and jetties, the very essence of Bohuslän. The island Hamburgö, with magnificent beaches, beautiful nature trails and a frequent ferry service is the perfect starting point if you want to explore the archipelago. It is possible to go to the island by car, but we recommend getting here by hiking or by bicycle. The views are extraordinary and the bathing spots by Boviken or Stora Stenar are not to be missed!
Hamburgsund has so much to offer and there's always a good reason to stay another night. You’ll find cosy restaurants, outdoor seatings, shopping, beaches and other lovely spots. Take a tour in the archipelago, go kayaking, experience lobster- or oyster safaris, or study local legends about stonecutters as well as the unique rock carvings from the Bronze Age that is located in the area. We also offer Viking-shows by the castle and live music and theatrical performances at Scen på Bônn. But don’t forget to relax as well. Buy a bottle of wine and a bag of fresh shrimps and enjoy the sundown on a cliff by Heestrand.
You are welcome to visit us all year round. You’ll enjoy Hamburgsund's hospitality during every season, from cozy autumn days to when the cliffs are covered by snow in the winter.
